There’s something about looking at a landscape before and after being in it. Something about the experience makes you feel like you know the landscape personally. Pictures are only images, it’s like trying to get to know someone simply by studying their portraits rather than spending time with them. The latter is more fun anyway unless you don’t like people, or in this case hiking. x] This is Mount Rubidoux, my friends (before the ascent). “Nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:39, AMP).

Isn’t it wonderful to know that nothing can separate us from the Love of God? His love is truly amazing. It goes beyond any human love we could ever know. There’s nothing we can do to make Him love us more, and there is nothing we can do to make Him love us any less. His love is everlasting.

Oftentimes, when people make mistakes or feel that they have disappointed God, they think they have to stay away from Him until they “get their act together” so to speak. But nothing could be further from the truth! He’s always there with open arms, ready to receive you and make you new. Remember, God’s not mad at you; He’s madly in love with you! You are on His mind day and night. His thoughts are precious towards you.

If there is anything in your life that is keeping you from receiving His amazing love, choose to set those things aside today. Let His love restore you and make you new. Simply come to Him with an open heart and receive everything He has in store for you

Can a man truly give up his life so that another can live? And if it’s possible, then is this truly what love is? But, men die. This is the end of life for all of us. So, why would a man die for someone that does not know him? And is this what love truly is??

If Jesus died for me before I knew Him, what does this prove to me? It simply proves to me that He loved me. That He had no desire of personal recognition for His actions, although He very well deserved it. Why would God’s son die for someone who may have never loved Him back? Would any human do this? If anyone would dare they would have to possess a strength of character unbeknown to us. Jesus saw past the present tense.

I believe Jesus saw me. He looked at me in my little newborn shape. He saw every time that I fell and scraped my knees and bled. Jesus saw me experiencing heart break, failure, doubt, pain, and guilt. Jesus saw me when I sinned and the darkness that it would lead to. He saw this very moment in which I recognize how much of a sinner I truly am and how much I would need His sacrifice for me. And, Jesus may have wept at the realization that He was my only Hope. That none other than He could save me now from God’s justice. And it was for me that He took the abuse from the self-righteous religious leaders, from the unbelieving King, and from Pilate who washed his hands of the whole affair. It was for me that He endured the pain of being flogged until His back lay in shreds. He was mocked and did not fight back. He was humiliated so that I would not be lost. He is kingdom come; He is the King, yet He died for me. When He was nailed to the cross He didn’t fight back, and finally He was hidden from God the father because He took all of my sin upon Himself as the ultimate judgement separated Him from God. So, tell me who else would do this for me without my knowledge, without guarantee that someday I would receive Him and love Him back. Only a true father, Only love itself would prompt someone to give such a gift. And all of this was done for me without me doing anything to deserve it. This is the meaning of grace. Jesus loved me until death, and even beyond death itself. As He rose on the third day the war was already over. And here I am still trying to fight it. Why do we fight the war that has already been won? I have learned to trust Him above myself. I will always be human, but He will always be who He has always been: the beginning and the end. So, within me I feel the need to turn my life over to Him in love.

All of this is what the Gospel really is. The good news. And this is about as far as words will take it, the other 99% is composed of actions. For Jesus was not only word: He was, is, and always will be the verb in perfect tense.

well. first it gets worse, and then it gets better. and you struggle like climbing up hill for most of the time. It feels like you’re always swimming against the flow. And at times you feel like giving up but you think to yourself that the reward for not giving up is always amazing. So you keep going. But then you start forgetting what really matters, and you question everything. You search for God, but you’re so self absorbed that you don’t hear him anymore. So then you realize you need to change something. That all you’ve worked for seems meaningless, without your life having a God given purpose. So, you come home and you find that you can again listen. That God has been there all along, and that it was all part of a larger purpose. That’s when you realize that maybe you were stupid for making life harder than it had to be. You should just trust and obey. I guess what I’m saying seems like a lot but everybody does it. At least the sensible ones. The rest keep on chasing their dreams until they find that

their bodies are wasting and that even worse than that: they’ve wasted their entire lives on something illusive. So, listen to me and pray any chance you get and stop to listen to Him guiding you and telling you to stop freaking out. He’s got your back, even if you can’t seem to see it. Aaaaaaaaaand, now I’ve written too much.
